Short Biography

Picture of myself and my dog

I was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Since then, I have had the pleasure of residing in the following locations: Pensacola, FL; Virginia Beach, VA; Doylestown, PA; Huntsville, AL; Blacksburg, VA; Akron, OH; Wadsworth, OH; Norton, OH; Spartanburg, SC; Blacksburg, VA; Powell, OH; and finally, once again, Blacksburg, VA. If home is where your heart lies, then Blacksburg is definitely where I consider my home to be.

I have traveled, by train of course, from the east coast to the west coast of the United States, and back again. In retrospect, I would suggest a sleeper car if anyone is interested. I have also visited the following countries: St. Lucia; Ireland; Denmark; Switzerland; and Great Britain. I hope to visit Italy some time in the near future and would love to return to Ireland - sooner than later.

I am extremely fortunate to have two awesome younger sisters and an incredible large extended family - love to you all! I also have the most wonderful boyfriend I could have ever dreamed of and the most perfect boxer named Lucia. And I am not kidding about her being perfect, just ask her.

Professional Interests

Well, with all of the classes I have taken - and I have taken a lot - I have enjoyed my photography, math, history, and computer classes the most. However, if I plan on graduating with any type of degree this century, I need to focus on learning how to complete the tasks I start. I am hoping by taking this course it will open a new interest that can be sculpted into a professional career.

Current Interests for Fun

As for personal interests I love to travel and meet new people. I also enjoy reading, hiking, biking, exploring, being on the river, camping, napping in the sun, and cooking. I once tried sky-diving in hopes of curing my fear of heights, which by the way did not work.

If I owned a television, which I do not, my favorite channels would be the History Channel and the Discovery Channel. I am absolutely addicted to iTunesU. This is a section of iTunes that everyone should take the time to explore. I am currently listening to a series I downloaded from Stanford University titled, "The Future of the Internet". Last night I finished a mental health series, also from Stanford University, which contained a lecture on the "Lucifer Effect: Understanding How Good People Turn Evil". I am glad I was not able to see the slides from this lecture; my imagination was gruesome enough for me.

As for music, I enjoy listening to all types, with the exception of country and rap. Most of the time my radio does not deviate from NPR, but if it does, you will hear a warped voice of Curtis Mayfield playing from a much worn cassette tape. Yes, there are still cassette tapes floating around.
